"Arrow-leaved Balsamroot."

Arrow-leaved Balsamroot is one of Montana's showiest sunflower cousins. If from a distance you see a south-facing hillside awash in yellow, that's Arrow-leaved Balsamroot. You can read all about the sunflower family here on my natural history website, Wild & Free Montana.
