"Arizona Woodpecker."
The Arizona Woodpecker only ranges as far north as south-central Arizona. And, it's the only brown-backed woodpecker. Behind the lens. This was harsh, late-morning light. But as the bird worked its way up the branch, it moved through a shaft of light that created a spotlight effect. The shadow from a branch lands on the bird's head and back, seperating it from the background.
