A male black bear (right) cautiously greets a female nose to nose. During spring the young couple will travel together for a few days before parting ways again. (Note - these are two wild and free-ranging back bears.)
The crescent moon sets behind a distant ridge just after sunset. The crescent part is lit by the sun, while the rest of the moon is lit by sunlight that's reflecting off the Earth. That reflected light is called, "Earthshine."
